This is a super cute city!
This is a super cute city! It is a good size of not being too large and crazy, but also not being too small as to not have anything to do. However, the main issue is that it is super expensive. Especially anywhere near the plaza, be warned about that. The Railyard is a great place for art and farmer's market stuff too! Also the driver's are a little crazy.

Charming small town feel with very friendly residents.
Charming small town feel with very friendly residents. Beautiful architecture and sights all around. The free shuttle was very convenient for getting around the plaza and surrounding area without worrying about parking and driving on narrow and congested streets. There were lots of great dining options and the relaxed pace and mild weather was just what we needed. History and art is showcased throughout.

We stayed downtown in the historic district whcih is walkable. Shopping is expensive, but the restaurants are really good. The history museum and old churches and buildings and Indian history were fascinating. Side trip for one morning to Madrid - a funky, one street town was fun. The air is very thin and it was hard for my friend with heart issues to get around. We stayed 4 nights, maybe could have stayed 1 more. Had relatives to take us here and there so didn't need a car. Hard to find parking on the streets.

Enjoyed the restaurants such as Los Potrillos, La Playa Mariscos, and especially Los Magueyes on Burro Alley (great food and wonderful owners). Had a hard time manuevering the streets in Santa Fe, Parking and road construction. Got sick at Fun Noodle, would not recommend. Wife loved the shopping. Signed up for brunch with chef Carolina. $115 for a coulpe of pieces of toast, some small cookies , a piece of squash the size of my thumb and some pudding. Very disapponiting. A big heads up for Larry Rael, the porter at Buffalo Thunder, a truly wonderful man You will meet him at the door as you enter. say hello and if you need anything he will help you.

This is one of the special cities in the country.
This is one of the special cities in the country. A blend of three cultures, it has an interesting history, architectural consistency with the pueblo architecture, lots of good restaurants, and is an easy place to get around. With the Opera here and the many art galleries, it's easily one of the cultural centers of the U.S.

Very friendly staff, excellent breakfast including fresh fruit and a variety of hot choices, easy parking, easy walk to the plaza, and close to many excellent restaurants. This is an older, refurbished property, not a luxury hotel, but a lot of thought has put into everything. For example: my room had a refrigerator that really worked, and a microwave that came in handy. In the lobby there is filtered water to fill your water bottle and good coffee cookies. Highly recommended.
We arrived early and we given an early check-in with absolutely no fuss. The location of the hotel was superb as it was an easy walk to a number of local restaurant, giving lots of choice for lunch and dinner. Similarly, it was a simple journey im to downtown. Too far to walk, but a quick and cheap Uber ride away.
There is a complimentary bus service, but it finished too early for us to use it to return to the hotel.
Liked location, right near plaza and that Gruet was downstairs. Also, nice the front desk person let us leave the car in lot while we explored Santa Fe on foot. Again, didn’t like mandatory valet service
